"When I'm being strangled by Poles or whoever, will I look at any contracts? Come on, what are you talking about!” the Head of State said. “Poland decided to close the border with Belarus. That’s fine, it’s up to them. We do not visit the European Union very often. Our interests are primarily now in Russia, China and the East. If I close it [the border], what will happen then with this flow which is transiting mainly to Russia and China via us?"

The President noted that European goods will not be able to get to Russia and beyond via Ukraine. There is no transit via the Baltic States as well.

"Only Belarus remains. Therefore, before making such statements, they should think twice of what they are cackling about. Poland will close the border... Who will they harm most? Themselves. If they close it, then they should think how they will buy energy from Russia," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
