As noted by the Head of State, the area of responsibility is not new for Mr. Nazarov since, in 2010-2013, he was the Deputy Head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate.

Aleksandr Lukashenko added that he had talked to Mr. Nazarov before his appointment more than once, “We agreed that he would study the current state of affairs and – if necessary – get acquainted with certain employees. We did as we had agreed. The Belarus President Property Management Directorate is a special structure within the country’s state government, and issues of national importance are also being resolved here. The head is on the top of its personnel register – being the highest official. This means that his competence oversees everything: he is in charge of all tasks that are being solved on the territory of Belarus. There are 11 senior officials, who have such functions and powers, except for their main position.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko also specified the core competencies of the new head, “First of all, ensuring the activities of the President and organisational and material support of state events at the highest level. The Property Management Directorate knows how to do this and, I must say, has always done it professionally.”

The Head of State noted that being a nationwide state administrative body – directly subordinate to the President – the Property Management Directorate has an extensive diversified production base, which includes about 70 organisations, employing over 27,000 people.

The President drew attention to the fact that the Republican Clinical Medical Centre subordinate to this structure is a high-tech institution with the latest modern equipment, as well as qualified and well-trained personnel, “I hint at the fact that much has been invested there. The medical staff of the centre are able to perform the most complex cardiological, orthopaedic and other surgeries. The task of the Property Management Directorate is to promote the development of the centre’s material and technical base, as well as the expansion of the export of medical services.”

The Belarusian Head of State noted that the Property Management Directorate also includes a number of sanatoriums located in Belarus’ most beautiful places and unique climatic regions on the Black Sea coast,

“These are perfect health-improving institutions that provide medical services at the highest level. Not only citizens of Belarus, but also foreigners rest and recuperate there. In connection with the demand and occupancy of sanatoriums, think about how they can be modernised in order to receive more vacationers and, accordingly, earn money.”

The Head of State also pointed out that, along with health improvement, the Property Management Directorate offers tourist holidays in national parks and the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, “It is necessary to pay more attention to the advertising of existing offers for families and tourists. Taking into account the fact that such a vacation is in great demand, think about expanding the range of services provided for ecological and educational tourism.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that during his last visit to Belovezhskaya Pushcha, the issue of expanding the range of such services was discussed with the leadership of the region, “We must pay tribute to Shuleiko [Yuri Shuleiko, the Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee] who is ready to invest there in order to expand these services. Meet and discuss with him specifically what needs to be done, and we will start doing it immediately. At the same time, you should keep in mind that the Property Management Directorate faces the key task of preserving protected areas.”

The Head of State also recalled the idea that arose after the construction of a bypass road around Belovezhskaya Pushcha. It was necessary to organise stopping points and roadside service facilities where people could leave the car and continue visiting the forest on a bicycle, “In order to breathe and heal. Maybe some of you do not get it, but you should understand that each of you has children. It is very important to put your wife and children on a bike and show them Belovezhskaya Pushcha... We need to develop these services. People are happy to go there. The land is unique there.”

The President also noted the results of the Property Management Directorate’s work, “A unified system for accounting for the receipt and distribution of humanitarian aid has been formed, and conditions have been created for its provision to a wide range of those in need.”

In general, the Head of State noted that the results of the work of organisations which are part of the Property Management Directorate system are not bad in H1 2022. According to the President, last week, Yuri Nazarov’s predecessor Valery Ivanov reported on this “You have earned as much as Br100m in net profit. I hope that this positive trend will continue.”
