Lukashenko interviewed for Big Sunday News of Rossiya TV channel
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has given an interview today for the Big Sunday News programme of the Rossiya TV channel. Yevgeny Popov, a journalist from VGTRK and the host of the 60 Minutes socio-political show, acted as an interviewer.
The All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company was established on July 14th, 1990. In early 1993, it received the status of a nationwide company and became a full member of the European Broadcasting Union and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In 1998, a number of media assets were merged into VGTRK holding. At present, it includes the Rossiya, Russiya Kultura, Rossiya 24 and Karusel federal channels, the RTR-Planeta and Rossiya 24 international broadcasting services, the Vesti FM, Mayak, Radio Rossiya and Radio Kultura radio stations, about 20 thematic channels for cable and satellite operators, the SMOTRIM media platform, and the largest news portal Вести.Ru.
Journalist Yevgeny Popov is the winner of two TEFI awards and the Golden Pen of Russia Award. He has been under EU sanctions since February 2022. The journalist authored the War of the Worlds, Emperor Obama, Media Literacy, and Browder Effect films.
