Aleksandr Lukashenko asked about the general situation in the sphere of healthcare, “They report to me at the local level that not all medical equipment works due to some malfunctions, and in some places it even stays idle for two or three months. This is not normal. As far as medicines are concerned, medical equipment and medicines are not under severe sanctions, so saying that someone does not sell us something is a poor excuse… If the Americans don’t sell drugs to you, then buy them in India and Cuba. It’s just an issue of manoeuvrability. Therefore, excuses for not having enough medicines or something else are not accepted. Andrei Ivanovich, take this under control in the Prosecutor’s General Office. You know how to do it. The same ways as you handled the loss of livestock. It is necessary to take it under control, so that the Government does not become complacent. The only issue I ask the Government to deal with is the economy.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko once again underlined that the main area of the Government’s responsibility is the economy, “Fight these sanctions. This is your area of responsibility. Take actions.”

The President of Belarus demanded from the Healthcare Minister to report on the situation as a whole, ‘outside the scope of this trial on the crooks’, as well as on countering the COVID-19, “I see that our doctors – those who did not steal, but honestly work and fight the COVID – boast good results and some success at the moment.”
