Speaking to the youth at the opening ceremony, Aleksandr Lukashenko highlighted that science is essential everywhere nowadays.

“Our meeting with you today, this brief discussion, represents a significant future dialogue with our scientists and scholars,” the President stated.

The Head of State also mentioned the upcoming plans to hold a congress of scientists, which will focus on the future development of science in Belarus and its integration with production.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the young people strong health, as well as new accomplishments and discoveries for the benefit of their homeland, “Don’t try to run away somewhere. Some have left and now don’t know how to return. When making important decisions, you should consult a bit with your elders, the patriots of Belarus. I want to stress again that in just a decade, you won’t just be building a new Belarus — you will be responsible for it. We will then see how you build this Belarus and what innovations you bring. From the examples of your early inventions today, it’s clear you are heading in the right direction,” the President emphasised.

The Head of State highlighted another important point to the youth, “There’s one thought that keeps coming to me. Very often, as you take on leadership roles in the country, at enterprises or departments, you’ll hear this: ‘Salary. Give. Give more’. Don’t fall into that mindset. Life is becoming increasingly challenging. Competition is fierce. The most important thing for the state is to provide opportunities. From an early age, we offer you these opportunities so you can discover your abilities and strive to fulfil your potential.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined that those who are determined to achieve their goals never simply ask ‘give me’ — they build their own lives.

At the conclusion of his speech, Aleksandr Lukashenko inaugurated the centre. The solemn ceremony featured a special device — a mechatronic system — that opened the doors to everyone eager to explore technology and innovation. Two students from the centre joined the Head of State in the launch. When the lever was pulled, all the gears started moving. A ‘robotic arm’ with an additional gear emerged from the mechanism and was presented to the President as a keepsake of this symbolic moment.

As previously reported by sb.by, the facility has established fundamentally new opportunities for the diverse development of children and youth. Each of the 18 educational labs will focus on this goal. The areas covered include aircraft and rocket modelling, automotive technology, robotics, ship modelling, programming, design and operation of radio-controlled models and UAVs, automotive equipment, energy, and more.

All laboratories are equipped with up-to-date educational, technical and computer equipment, including simulators, models, construction sets, full-scale prototypes, motorcycle and automotive gear, unmanned vehicles and 3D printers.

The outdoor space has also been used extensively. Dedicated areas have been established for training and competitions, such as a track for radio-controlled models, zones for go-karting and motorsports, and a launch site for aircraft models and other UAVs.

Operating in two shifts, the centre can accommodate over 7,500 students across 281 interest groups.
