Lukashenko: in no case Belarusians will turn away from path of true democracy, society of justice is the goal
The year 2020 events will never repeat in Belarus – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at the final concert of the Marathon of Unity campaign held at the Minsk-Arena complex today
The Head of State noted, “Belarusians are kind, hospitable, and very tolerant people. We can listen and believe, and this is our Slavic feature. We believe, but this quality of the Belarusian people has played a cruel joke in the history of independent Belarus. In 2020, some of our people believed in ‘alluring life abroad’, and we almost destroyed ourselves – let’s be honest about that. Actually, it was a very important and necessary ‘vaccination’ for us, and we got it. All our opponents and enemies should understand: they need to have no hopes that we would ever repeat the situation of the year 2020. I would like to emphasise: in no case will we turn away from the path of true democracy and respect for people. We should not make someone stop talking, we should not force anyone to go where they do not want to. We will create a society of justice, where people will respect each other and want to live. Despite all the difficulties, a vast field of opportunities is opening up before us, Belarusians. Let's take advantage of these opportunities together! Let's do everything on time! Together. Let's not waste this time, since the time has chosen us! There is no getting away from this truth.”
Speaking about the significance of the upcoming Sunday, January 26th, Aleksandr Lukashenko stated, “The significance of this day is great. We must show the whole world that we are reasonable people, that we know how to draw conclusions from past events and look into the future — peaceful and safe, which we must leave for our children and grandchildren. We cannot get away from this, since we live in a scary, all-encompassing time – but this time has chosen us!”
