Lukashenko: if we lose battle for people, then a new Ukraine will appear when all are on their own
Citizens' appeals, personal meetings, hotlines, dialogue platforms and administrative procedures are only a visible part of the process of interaction between the authorities and society – as noted by the President at today’s nationwide conference dedicated to Actualisation of Methods and Forms of Work with the Population at the Local Level
“We always work with the population – regardless of presence or absence of direct contacts with residents of our districts, cities, villages, or streets. We are also part of the population, and you know which results of our work create a favourable atmosphere in society as a whole, and which form political risks for the state. You are smart and experienced people, and you understand everything I have said more profoundly because of your position," the President addressed those present, asking them to share their views if they disagree with what had been said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko proposed the conference participants to talk about their personal achievements, share experience and ideas, “We will implement everything reasonable persistently. After all, why are we holding this meeting? Its goal is to gather everyone who works with citizens' appeals and with public initiatives, to discover the problem and be sure to find a solution.”
“If we lose the battle for our people, then a penny is the price of us as a government and of our state. There will be a Ukraine then – where all are on their own, where the strongest ones survive, while the youth, children and the elderly are left to their fate. They have sunk into war. None of us want such a scenario, so let us get to work. I am ready to hear you, I am ready for a frank conversation, since the topic is vital – though it is boring, uninteresting and even nasty. However, nobody but us will solve these tasks. This is our role in society, and we must play it,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.
