Lukashenko: if necessary, I will fight with weapons in my hands

During his conversation with the France-Presse journalist, Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on Poland's policy towards Belarus

“Do you want me to calmly look at how Poland is wishing ‘to have in its possession’ (I quote them) the whole of Belarus? What would happen if Germany says it wants to have France as its part? What position would you take? Similarly, I am reacting harshly to this," the Head of State stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko voiced his established position, “I am the President, and my main authority envisages protection of the sovereignty and independence of the state first of all. I am doing this. If the opposition fights against it, if some persons or a state lay claims to Belarus’ sovereignty and independence, then I will stand up and fight against it – taking weapons in my hands, if necessary.”
