Lukashenko: humanitarian representatives of the Order of Malta have seen much suffering of victims of military operations

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta, Fra’ John Dunlap, on St. John the Baptist Day – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

“During their humanitarian work, the representatives of the Order of Malta have seen a lot of pain and suffering of the victims of military operations. Your country has also suffered losses and hardships,” the Head of State noted. “This year we’re celebrating the 80th anniversary of liberation from Nazism, in the fire of the struggle against which every third Belarusian died. That’s why we urge all states to peace, dialogue, and interaction with an open heart and a pure soul. This call takes on special significance in the modern world – gripped by conflict and hostility. Only understanding, negotiation, willingness to listen and the ability to hear each other will help us build a peaceful future for posterity.”

The President wished Fra’ John Dunlap strong health and longevity, and prosperity to the Order of Malta.

“We will be glad to welcome you to the hospitable Belarusian land, where you will always find support for constructive and creative initiatives,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
