Lukashenko hopes to strengthen relations with Greece

On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the people of Greece on their national holiday: Independence Day – as reported by BelTA with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

"In modern times – when the whole world has faced a number of challenges and threats, it is very important to preserve peace and harmony in society. Contacts based on the principles of partnership, respect and mutual assistance are of particular importance," the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State reminded that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Greece. "I am convinced that the rich centuries-old history and common spiritual values of our peoples will become a good basis for further building constructive bilateral ties," he stressed.

The President expressed Minsk's interest in developing co-operation with Athens in various areas, including economic and investment spheres. "I hope that – despite the current political situation – our friendly relations will be further strengthening,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The Belarusian leader wished health, peace, prosperity and confidence in the future to the friendly people of Greece.
