Lukashenko held working meeting with Speaker of National People's Assembly of Algeria Ibrahim Boughali

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has held a working meeting with the Speaker of the National People's Assembly of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ibrahim Boughali, today

Ibrahim Boughali warmly welcomed the Belarusian leader and all members of the delegation, expressing confidence that the current visit would be fruitful for both countries. He recalled that diplomatic relations between Belarus and Algeria were established 30 years ago, and the parties have achieved considerable success in bilateral relations over this time.

The Speaker of the National People's Assembly of Algeria noted Belarus' special achievements in industry and agriculture, also emphasising the stability of the republic’s political system. “We have achieved great success and obtained good results. The trade turnover between our countries is constantly increasing,” he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko agreed that the Belarus-Algeria trade turnover has increased significantly in recent years. “However, the existing trade turnover does not actually reflect the potential of our countries. We held a forum of business circles of Belarus and Algeria here, and established direct relations between the companies. I think we will be able to significantly increase our trade turnover,” the Belarusian leader noted.

The President emphasised, “We always keep to our commitments, and we will strictly observe our agreements. We will faithfully abide by our signed agreements. There will be no delays our part.”

The Head of State stressed that Belarus is a machine-building country with the developed agriculture, and it is ready to share its achievements, “We have succeeded in developing many sectors, and we are ready to share this with you. It will be our task to train personnel to work with these technologies.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko also stressed the importance of parliamentary co-operation, noting that parliaments should play a crucial role and monitor the implementation of all agreements reached. “The exchange of delegations should be supported. We will be happy to welcome you and members of Parliament at any time in Belarus, and we are ready to provide all possible assistance for you to get acquainted with our capabilities,” the Head of State added.
