Lukashenko got acquainted with drones in service with Belarusian army
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko got acquainted with samples of unmanned aircraft systems in service with the Belarusian army during his today’s visit to the centre for the preparation and use of unmanned aerial complexes in the Bereza District, BelTA reports
Some models were designed and assembled by Belarusian military personnel, members of the unmanned aerial system units – being actually unique developments. Aleksandr Lukashenko communicated with the servicemen and stressed that people with such level of knowledge should be encouraged.
“Our latest development is a gravity hook for evacuating a drone that has been lost, or for delivering water, ammunition, and small provisions,” an upgraded version of the drone was presented to the President.
“Well done! As I repeat, the main task is to ensure that there are dozens of followers of this specialist after he stops working. For this to happen, this person should be encouraged and paid a good salary. You should do whatever he needs. So, thank you. Encourage such people. You should see them,” the Head of State noted.
Aleksandr Lukashenko was also shown promising Belarusian developments and drones that are manufactured at foreign enterprises. Special attention was paid to the means of combating unmanned aircraft systems.
An important requirement of the President was to ensure the quality of manufactured equipment. As noted by the Head of State, only the best models must be sent to the army.
In addition, Aleksandr Lukashenko familiarised himself with personal protective equipment, optical surveillance devices, safety glasses, hearing protection headsets, and other weapons. “This all should be produced,” the Commander-in-Chief noted.
The President was then demonstrated how drones could be used in combat operations. During the first episode, an assault group worked together with drone operators, and then unmanned aerial systems were used as part of counterbattery fire.
