Lukashenko: Gomselmash machinery in need everywhere, so quality should receive primary attention
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has made a number of personnel decisions today, including the appointment of Vitaly Sheleg, who previously headed the Minsk Gear Plant, as the Director General of Gomselmash
Addressing Gomselmash’s former head Aleksandr Novikov (who has been appointed Chairman of the Gomel District Executive Committee today), the President stressed that he would need to share the competencies and experience with the new CEO, and also asked, “Are you sure that the person will cope with the task of heading of enterprise? You know that you will have to take responsibility together with him. Without interfering with his work, help if he asks.”
The President then addressed Vitaly Sheleg and actually all heads of industrial enterprises, “Your equipment is needed everywhere, but its quality needs to receive attention! This refers to MTZ, MAZ, BELAZ, and Gomselmash. Quality is paramount. If the quality is fine, then be sure that the main market (the Russian Federation) will consume your equipment. They need quality, they will even pay less attention to your prices – though the latter should not be extortionate. Quality is the key point!”
Aleksandr Lukashenko also announced his visit to Gomselmash, saying that the current and former heads of the enterprise will report there on the state of affairs.
