Lukashenko: facts indicate Ukraine wanted this conflict
The facts show that Ukraine wanted this conflict with Russia – as stated by President Lukashenko on meeting the Belarusian military today, BelTA reports
"Last night, the commander of the border troops reported to me: the state border of Ukraine had been strengthened. Instead of two people, five servicemen were on guard duty. All right, I told him, observe – and we will keep looking. He called me later in the evening then: ‘Aleksandr Grigoryevich, there is no one on the border from the Ukrainian side’. They had moved away. By the time of the beginning of the operation (Russian special operation – BelTA’s remark), there had been no border guards on the other side," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
Facts of the kind – that are hidden from the media – indicate that Ukraine wanted this conflict, the President believes. “They did nothing to prevent it. They were whipping up tension all the time – even after the independence of these republics was recognised,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “Stop! Who are you going to fight with? This is the most powerful nuclear state. Why do you need this? No, it is all the same. Do you think they do not understand that they are not ready for a war with Russia? They understand this. A question arises again: why are they escalating the relations? This is because they are being forced to war. So they went ahead with this war. And they have got a response,” the Head of State said.
