Lukashenko discussed with Mezentsev plans to hold a meeting of Union State Supreme State Council
The President of Belarus has met today with State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev to discuss many topical issues of Belarusian-Russian relations
At the beginning of the conversation, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “It’s good that this year begins with this event. Frankly speaking, we need to update the agenda of the Union State. First of all, we need to sum up the results of the work done and to outline plans for the future. To do this, it is necessary to convene the highest bodies of our Union State in a face-to-face format and hold an appropriate meeting. I think that it would be possible to choose an algorithm for the Council of Ministers [of the Union State] to hold its meeting and, based on the results, we will determine the time of the meeting of the Supreme State Council, which will be held at the level of top officials of our Union State. I think this option can be worked out. If it suits the Russian side, we can go this way.”
