Lukashenko demands systemic, thoughtful work from law enforcement agencies

During today’s meeting focusing on the issues of law and order, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, stated that we will decapitate anyone who wants to disturb peace and tranquillity in Belarus, BelTA reports

During the meeting, Belarus’ Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov reported on the current situation developing in the country, paying special attention to the fight against extremist crimes, including terrorist attacks on the railways.

“The Interior Ministry has provided a prompt response to the changing circumstances,” Mr. Kubrakov noted. “The so-called traditional preventive measures failed to prevent the commission of these crimes. Meanwhile, tough detention of criminals had a rather effective and even sobering effect. After bringing the principled position of law enforcement agencies through the media, the number of calls and attempts to commit such illegal actions decreased to a minimum level.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that we should never be complacent, let alone delude ourselves, despite the positive trends.

“I want you to understand that the talks that ‘we are heroically fighting here’ will not work with me, as our people say,” warned the Head of State.

“Have you forgotten what happened in 2020? Or are three fourths of the people sitting here are happy with what happened in 2020 and want a repeat of the past? Just remember that this will not happen. I have enough strength and means and those who will be nearby, and we will decapitate anyone who wants to disturb the peace and tranquillity in our country today,” the President said. “Maybe someone wants to make a war today, as is happening in Ukraine? This is the way of carelessness, bureaucracy and failure to take action… It’s probably because you don’t know much about what is happening as a result of a modern war. I am deeply immersed in this war and see what is happening. It is better to stay away from war, it is better that we don’t have it here, on our land.”

The Head of State also considers the work of the law enforcement agencies insufficient across other areas. For example, the problem of loss of livestock at agricultural enterprises is still acute. According to him, the police are taking little action to rule out criminal schemes.

“A crime comes after crime,” he said. “We won’t solve this without police.”

“I have gathered you for the first meeting of this kind for a reason. After this conversation, responsibility will be fierce. We will strengthen the role of the prosecutor’s office and all other bodies. We need systematic and thoughtful everyday work,” Aleksandr Lukashenko demanded.
