Lukashenko instructed to settle all issues at Belshina, Mogilevkhimvolokno

Today, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has made a number of personnel decisions. Notably, he has agreed on the appointment of heads for major state-owned enterprises.

Thus, Andrei Soiko, who has held the position of Deputy Director General for Social Affairs and Head of the Social Development and Housing Department at Belaruskali, became the new CEO of Belshina. Oleg Kurilin, who has served as Deputy Director General for Commercial Affairs at Mogilevkhimvolokno, has been approved for the post of CEO of Mogilevkhimvolokno.

Speaking to Dmitry Krutoi, the Head of the Belarus President Administration, Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised, “There should be no more discussions! You made the decision to appoint [new heads]; I didn’t pressure you. According to your reports, these people seem capable and should be able to revive these enterprises. You need to stop talking about these companies.”

Addressing the new heads, Aleksandr Lukashenko made his position clear, “Do not expect to simply receive money from the budget. You will only get funds for specific product deliveries. If you have products ready for export tomorrow and you will receive payment promptly [for these deliveries], we will lend you a small amount. Once you make the sale, you return the money. We are not discussing years, centuries, or decades. That’s the only way! Work with your labour teams to figure out how to overcome [the current challenges]. You must revive these companies!”

The President also instructed Dmitry Krutoi to visit these enterprises more frequently and provide updates on their status.
