Lukashenko criticised sports officials for inaction
At today’s meeting discussing the results of Belarusian athletes’ participation in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and prospects for the development of winter sports in Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that sports officials should raise the alarm everywhere, including by applying to international courts
“It is very important for us to decide how to develop sports and the Olympic movement in the new realities, in the conditions of hostile attitude towards Belarus and Russia from various functionaries, including the International Olympic Committee,” underlined the Belarusian leader. “What are you waiting for? Which international courts have you turned to in order to protest these decisions? This especially refers to the Paralympic movement. What our disabled athletes have done wrong and to whom? No answer. You have to raise the alarm everywhere, including in international courts, so that it was heard and the athletes see that you are ready to defend them.”
