Lukashenko: coup attempt in Belarus made according to Ukrainian scenario
The President of Belarus stated this today at a meeting with members of the Security Council and the leadership of the Council of Ministers. According to the Head of State, Russia has repeatedly called to respect its security interests, but these calls went unheard.
“Meanwhile, Ukraine was pumped up with weapons and encouraged to take revenge in Donbass. Nazi extremist organisations flourished. In 2020, they started to shake the situation in Belarus, using Presidential elections. They made an attempt at a coup d’etat according to the Ukrainian scenario, actively involving Ukrainian nationalists and cyber warfare centres located in Ukraine," noted Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The President said that in the Volyn Region, near our borders, with the knowledge of the competent Ukrainian authorities, bases and training camps were established to train volunteers to participate in Belarusian events, “This was publicly confirmed in court by the Donbass battalion commander Semenchenko, who is in custody. There is also indisputable evidence of the involvement of the Ukrainian special services in the activities of the Avtukhovich gang in acquiring ammunition in Ukraine and moving them to Belarus.”
