Earlier, on November 21st, the two leaders had a telephone conversation, and the President of Belarus personally congratulated his colleague on the election victory.

The official congratulatory telegram on the occasion emphasises that the re-election of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has become a clear confirmation of the national support for a strategic course for effective reforms aimed at modernising the country and strengthening its international authority. "I highly appreciate the trusting relationship that has developed between us, which allows us to openly discuss any – even the trickiest – issues. I want to assure you that Belarus will continue to remain a close friend and reliable partner of Kazakhstan, determined to provide firm support in the current difficult situation," the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko confirmed his readiness to welcome the President of Kazakhstan in Belarus on an official visit, that will make it possible to objectively assess the state of bilateral co-operation, and also to accelerate the implementation of the previously reached agreements.

The President wished his colleague good health and new successes in implementing large-scale transformations in the interests of the people of Kazakhstan.
