Lukashenko congratulates Luiz Lula da Silva on his re-election as President of Brazil
On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, congratulated Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on his re-election as President of Brazil – as informed by the Belarusian leader’s press service
"The sovereign people of Brazil have once again demonstrated a high level of trust in the course that the state will follow under your confident leadership. It was during your previous cadence that I made my first and so far only visit to your wonderful country. Together with you, we outlined the main priorities for the development of Belarusian-Brazilian relations,” the President of Belarus said in his congratulatory message.
The Head of State expressed his conviction that – on the basis of mutual understanding and respect – the leadership of both countries can significantly intensify political, trade, economic, humanitarian ties between Minsk and Brasilia, expand co-operation in the international arena for effective protection of the states’ independence and national interests, establishment and maintenance of a just world order.
"For these purposes, I have the honour to renew an invitation to you to visit Belarus at a convenient time. We have something to talk about as good old friends, something to discuss taking into account the changes that have taken place over the past twelve years," the President of Belarus stressed.
