Lukashenko congratulated Naftan Refinery on 60th anniversary

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated Naftan JSC staff on the company’s 60th anniversary, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"The construction of an oil refinery, thanks to which the city of Novopolotsk was born, forever changed the structure of Belarus’ national economy: the republic began to transform into a powerful industrial region. As a result, February 1963 – when the first domestic petrol was obtained here – marked the birth of the Belarusian petrochemistry," the congratulatory message reads.

According to the Head of State, Naftan remains the flagship of the industry. “The company’s success is rooted in the tireless work of several generations of caring and talented professionals who provide the country with high–quality oil refining products and increase its export potential,” he stressed. “I am convinced that – while carrying out progressive modernisation, increasing the depth of oil refining, mastering the most advanced technologies and new types of products – the plant will further increase capacity and remain at the forefront of the Belarusian industry."

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Naftan’s employees and veterans good health, happiness and new labour successes in their fruitful work for the benefit of native Belarus.
