Lukashenko congratulated Lithuanians on national holiday

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the people of Lithuania on the national holiday: State Restoration Day, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

“Belarus has always been interested in peaceful and prosperous Lithuania. Together we established economic and humanitarian ties, traded, visited each other, and created families. Lithuanian Klaipeda has traditionally been a sea gate for Belarusian exports,” the congratulatory message reads. “A few years ago, no one could even imagine that Lithuanian politicians would be able to so thoughtlessly ban us from visiting Lithuania, building walls with barbed wire on the common border, point weapons at us and even telling us how to live in our country.”

The Head of State noted that the peace-loving Belarusian people responded to this by continuing the visa-free regime for Lithuanian residents, by offering their goods, medical services, electricity, and opening the doors of sanatoriums, theatres, and museums.

“I’m sure that the current situation in our relations does not correspond to the aspirations of ordinary Lithuanians,” Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined.

The President of Belarus wished the citizens of neighbouring Lithuania happiness and development based on the true values of goodness, honest work, family well-being and justice.
