“Your Excellency, please accept my warmest congratulations on the occasion of the Spring Festival. The past year was marked by outstanding domestic and international achievements and worthy victories of the People's Republic of China. The whole world witnessed the bright Winter Olympics in Beijing, a rapid pace of development of China's space programme, the active promotion of initiatives in the field of global development and security, confident steps towards the revival of the great Chinese nation and construction of Chinese socialism, as well as the historic decisions of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China,” the congratulatory message reads.

As noted by the Belarusian President, despite all the difficulties that the Year of the Tiger brought, the parties managed to achieve significant success in building up Belarusian-Chinese co-operation through joint efforts. “An impressive package of bilateral agreements was signed on the side-lines of the SCO summit, which meet the interests of both states and will further strengthen the friendship between our countries,” he said, adding that relations between Minsk and Beijing have reached a new level of all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership. A project in the field of traditional Chinese medicine is being dynamically promoted in the Great Stone Industrial Park. The BelGee joint venture continues assembling passenger cars.

“I assure you of the readiness to further develop the whole range of Belarusian-Chinese relations together with you, to deepen co-operation in the international arena in order to build a just and peaceful global order,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said, inviting the Chinese leader to visit Belarus where Xi Jinping ‘is known and appreciated as a true friend’, and where he would be heartily welcomed.
