Lukashenko congratulated active and retired personnel of engineering troops on professional holiday
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated servicemen and veterans of the engineering troops of Belarus’ Armed Forces on their professional holiday – the Day of Engineering Troops – sb.by reports citing the Belarusian leader’s press service
“The army’s fighting ability, its victories and defeats are largely determined by the training, technical equipment and resilience of the engineering troops. This is exactly what happened during the Great Patriotic War, when military engineers, in order to bring Victory closer, equipped positions, laid minefields and built crossings under shelling and bombing,” the congratulatory message reads.
Just as selflessly the military engineers participated in the post-war restoration of the national economy, liquidation of the consequences of natural disasters and the Chernobyl catastrophe.
According to the Head of State, today military engineers successfully fulfil responsible tasks on neutralisation of explosive objects, prevention of natural threats, ensuring safe life of our citizens.
“I am convinced that the engineering troops of Belarus’ Armed Forces, equipped with modern weapons and equipment, will continue to be a reliable link in ensuring the military security of the Belarusian state, peace and stability in our society,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised.
The President addressed special words of gratitude to the veterans who made a significant contribution to the formation and development of the engineering forces.
“I wish you good health, peace, kindness and new successes in your work to strengthen the defence capability of the Republic of Belarus,” the Belarusian leader summed up.
