Lukashenko concerned about NATO and Poland's plans to seize Western Ukraine

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, is concerned about the plans of NATO and Poland to seize Western Ukraine – thus dismembering the country, as it was observed until 1939. He said this on meeting the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in Sochi today, BelTA reports.

The Head of State noted that there is a lot to talk about in the field of security at the meeting, especially taking into account the fact that NATO is concentrating its troops on our western borders.

“Some interesting things are unexpectedly observed in Ukraine. You know this very well. We and you should be concerned that they (politicians) are already taking steps to dismember Ukraine. We are concerned that they – Poles, NATO members – are ready to join, ‘help’ in this way to seize Western Ukraine, as it was until 1939. This worries us not only from the point of view of modern security: this is their strategy with regard to Western Belarus as well. That is why we keep our eyes open. And, as I said, Ukrainians will have one day to ask us not to allow the separation of this western and other parts from Ukraine. This is my position, but you know it for sure," Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Here we also have no less problems, but these are not our problems anymore. [These] are their problems that we will have to solve. Yesterday's incomprehensible behaviour of President Duda [Polish President Andrzej Duda – BelTA’s remark] in Kiev, who, actually decides virtually nothing in Poland – but is engaged into these fakes."
