Lukashenko: collective West aims to change power in Belarus

The President of Belarus has stated this today when making decision on new appointments in the state security system

In his address to the officers, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “Belarusian security officers have made a significant contribution to protection of our country and people from large-scale external and internal threats. I want to draw your attention: the situation remains tense. You know better than others that the failed coup attempt did not change the enemy's plans. The collective West continues to interfere in the internal affairs of our country, aiming at a change of power and, which is most dangerous for us, at destruction of our state’s independence. We must remember, understand and feel this every day and every hour – especially you.”

The President pointed to the tools with which an offensive against Belarus is being conducted, “Sanctions are being used, protests, extremism and terrorism are being financed. Guerrilla fighters are being selected and trained. We don't simply know this. We are working with this. The political emigrant centres in Warsaw and Vilnius, created under the control of the special services, target radicals at acts of intimidation against public and state figures, representatives of the media, law enforcement agencies, and already the judiciary.”

Foreign special services and their hangers-on represented by local people and fugitives are ready for the most Jesuitical measures. “Subversive activities are planned at facilities of the defence complex, economy and life support. Foreign intelligence agencies and their accomplices are investigating the situation within labour teams, trying to inspire strikes. The period of the constitutional referendum is being considered as one of possible dates for another attempt to start a revolution (day X, as they believe),” the President stressed.

Preparatory work is in full swing in different directions. “Modern information technologies – tested in other countries – are being used. A psychological war has been launched aimed at forming a negative image of the authorities among Belarusians. These methods of influence are directed at government staff and security forces in order to convince them of the lack of support from the population. They aim to plant doubts about the correctness of the state political course,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
