Lukashenko: Belarusian People’s Congress should occupy its niche in the state and not interfere with other government agencies’ competence
The Belarusian People’s Congress should occupy its niche in the state and not interfere with the competence of other state bodies – as noted by the President of Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko, during today’s meeting of the Presidium of the Belarusian People’s Congress

The Head of State drew attention to the fact that the organisational structure and commissions of the Belarusian People’s Congress remain a stumbling block. He recalled the debate at the last meeting of the Presidium, as well as his instruction to the Presidium to further work out these issues with the participation of the Head of the President Administration.
“I hope we will consider them today and make a decision. I expect you to provide a clear and reasoned justification of your positions. The problem is serious, and we have no right to make a mistake. The Belarusian People’s Congress should occupy its niche in the state and not interfere with the competence of other state bodies. New meetings, correspondence, and formalism should not be generated. Importantly, there should be no clashing of the heads of some authorities with others, and all together with the Belarusian People’s Congress," the Head of State emphasised.
Aleksandr Lukashenko drew the meeting participants’ attention, “Like pioneers, we are moving through virgin lands, forming a structure for the years ahead. The productivity and authority of the Congress and other government bodies largely depend on this decision. If we want to have an effective state, then we need to start with optimising management processes, total de-bureaucratisation and iron-clad executive discipline. Ultimately, the people's trust depends on it. We must definitely implement everything that we jointly promised to our people during the election campaign. We will do it.”
