Lukashenko: Belarusian army able to inflict unacceptable damage on enemy

The army of Belarus is combat-ready and, in case of external aggression, will be able to inflict unacceptable damage on the enemy – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during the meeting on issues of Belarus’ state defence needs in 2022, BelTA reports

The Belarusian Head of State stressed that the weapons that the Belarusian army already possesses enable to ensure its defence capability.

“I think these are good weapons for the army, showing that it will be able to fight and inflict unacceptable damage on the enemy, just as we planned. We are realists and understand that we will not be able to defeat NATO. However, we’ll be able to damage the territories, especially those from which we will be attacked – we have all the necessary weapons for this. These are the weapons that cover the entire territory of Poland across to the Baltic Sea, let alone the Baltic States, and practically Ukraine beyond Kiev. God forbid, I’m not hinting at anything, but I say this in order they understand the firing range of the weapons we have,” noted Aleksandr Lukashenko.

He also said that in line with the agreement with Russia, the S-400 air defence systems are likely to remain in Belarus. It is also planned to purchase Russian Iskander missile systems, which are currently in the country and will not be withdrawn.

“They can be used to defend our territory,” explained the Belarusian leader.
