The Head of State noted that, during his meeting with the Russian leader, he planned to discuss economic issues – among other aspects. “Import substitution is our traditional topic. We have proposed fifteen major projects, and the Russian side approved them. You have supported us in terms of co-financing these projects. If everything goes as planned, we will start import-substituting production in the near future," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

“I am speaking of the companies from unfriendly countries that supplied products to us – Russia and Belarus… We will be able to make our own products during this year and the year 2023,” the Head of State added.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that he would also like to discuss some specific issues related to the economy with Vladimir Putin.
