"The military-industrial complex is among the most important high-tech sectors of the Belarusian economy. Naturally, we should rely on domestic arms manufacturers,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Well-known domestic brands include automated command and control systems by AGAT, optics manufactured by Peleng and BelOMO, as well as tractor unites produced by MZKT.”

According to the Head of State, radio-electronic means of combating unmanned aerial vehicles created by Belarusian specialists have been recognised globally, “Electronics was also one of the most advanced sectors of the economy in Soviet times. And you see how it came in handy today. It is good that we have preserved everything. The Polonez rocket artillery system, the Buk-MB medium-range surface-to-air missile system (really good, it has demonstrated high reliability and efficiency) and missiles for it, hand grenade launchers, small arms and ammunition indicate that our military-industrial complex boasts serious scientific and industrial capacity.”

The President also spoke of an active work aimed at development of robotic means of fire destruction, unmanned strike systems, and anti-tank guided missiles. At the same time, he advised not to overdo it with cutting-edge technologies, “Effective things are simple and reliable. That is the key.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarusian troops are now receiving the latest anti-aircraft missile systems Tor-M2, radar stations Protivnik, Sopka, Vostok, Rosa, and the electronic warfare systems Groza.

The Head of State added that, some time ago, the military wondered how low-flying aircraft could be detected. “It was difficult to detect with our powerful radio-electronic means – so Rosa was created,” he explained, adding that this detection tool is in great demand now, taking into account the lessons of the military operation in Ukraine.
