The Belarusian Head of State congratulated all students and teachers, everyone who is on video call, on the beginning of the academic year, “For many of you, this is the year of farewell to school while others just take the first step towards their chosen profession or are on the threshold of their career. In any case, a turning point and a fateful period is coming in your life.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, this holiday is special for everyone, “You know, I always find time to meet with teachers, schoolchildren and students on Knowledge Day. But for the first time, I didn’t go anywhere today.”

The President noted that not so long ago, at a meeting with pioneers, a very interesting invitation was voiced to conduct the first open lesson of the new academic year from the Palace of Independence, “I accepted this offer. At one time, I taught more than one lesson.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that he performed in a similar format at Belarusian State University exactly 19 years ago and noted that many topics raised with that generation are still relevant today, “As at that time, the world is engulfed today in the events that require a timely explanation of the position of the state. This position is based on the centuries-old experience of different generations of Belarusians, on their historical choice, on the heroic deeds of our ancestors, on examples of true love for their land.”
