"This special date marks an important milestone in formation of an independent and sovereign country. At a time when deep dividing lines have been drawn again on the European continent and the threat of a global armed conflict has become real, close economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between friendly peoples remain one of the few effective guarantees that do not allow sliding into total confrontation," the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is interested in a mutually respectful and equal interstate dialogue with Slovenia, which is turning thirty this year. "I confirm readiness to resume and develop co-operation for the prosperity of the Belarusian and Slovenian peoples. I am convinced that we will be able to achieve such a noble goal if we unite our efforts,” the Head of State stressed.

The President wished the people of Slovenia peace, happiness and prosperity.
