“I would like to discuss further prospects of co-operation with you today. We have established good relationship with you. I have visited Pakistan twice. We enjoy good relations with the former government and the present one. Despite the current situation in Pakistan, I am absolutely convinced that the Pakistani leadership and the country’s elite are wise enough to preserve this giant nuclear power in this difficult – very difficult – period,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he welcomed the guest at the Palace of Independence.

The Head of State added that Minsk and Islamabad have a basis for co-operation, “As I am informed, our joint facility focusing on machinery production has begun functioning in Punjab. We are ready to progress. I am convinced you are well aware of our possibilities, and how we can be useful for Pakistan. Therefore, I will not enumerate everything that you know. If you have any interest in our economy and our possibilities, the doors of any enterprise, any institution are open for you. You have always been our friend, and I think you will remain such – despite some twists and turns of the modern world.”
