Lukashenko: Belarus built most modern and safest nuclear power plant
Belarus has built the most modern and safest nuclear power plant in the world – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his today’s meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi
According to the Head of State, since the IAEA establishment, Belarus has been a member of this organisation. “We have attached and are still attaching great importance to co-operation with you, and this is primarily due to the fact that Belarus has become a nuclear power. We have built a nuclear power plant, which – as I would like to draw your attention to – is the most modern and safest one in the world. Its distinctive feature is that the station was built, figuratively speaking, from a scratch. We had no specialists, no experience, no knowledge in the operation of the nuclear power plant, but we have learned this and trained our specialists in time. Russia and IAEA have provided us with great assistance in this regard. Therefore, we can openly speak of the safety of our station today,” the President said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the experience accumulated in Belarus will be useful for the International Atomic Energy Agency anywhere in the world.
