Lukashenko: Belarus attaches great importance to maintaining friendly relations with Estonia

On behalf of all Belarusians and himself, President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the people of Estonia on Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State noted that Belarus attaches great importance to maintaining friendly relations with Estonia based on historical and cultural proximity, long-standing friendship and mutual respect. "We need to cherish and respect the heritage given to us by our ancestors," his message of greetings reads.

As noted by the President, artificially created barriers prevent the resumption of mutual trust and dialogue at the present stage, sadly. “I am convinced that, through joint efforts, we will overcome all the time-borne constraints for the prosperity and well-being of our states. Co-operating and talking with neighbours even in contradictory times, trying to resolve everything peacefully is the most correct path. I confirm that Belarus has always been and remains a proponent of this approach," the Head of State stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished all residents of Estonia confidence in the present day, as well as a peaceful and successful future.
