Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived at the firewood chopping championship among journalists, BelTA reports
Immediately upon arrival, the Head of State personally demonstrated how to chop firewood correctly, with assistance of Dmitry Baskov and Sergei Teterin.
Aleksandr Lukashenko showed how to cut a large log with an axe and a heavy hummer and then demonstrated his excellent axe skills on taking a smaller log. "We are looking for a crack and the point where we want to hit, and then move along the crack towards the centre. It is better to chop in the way so that the log does not fall off the block," the Head of State commented in detail on the process during his master class.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also recalled residents of the neighbouring countries, where not everything is fine now with energy resources. "Let Latvians, Lithuanians and Poles come to us and chop firewood for their needs themselves," he said.
After that, the Belarusian leader went to the competition sectors to observe how the championship is progressing.
