Lukashenko: all innovative developments should strengthen the economy and national security of the state

Our country can be proud of the achievements of its scientists, and everyone who visited the Intellectual Belarus exhibition of sci-tech achievements saw it – as stated today by the President at a ceremony of awarding doctor of science diplomas and professor certificates to scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “Some time ago I instructed the head of the Academy of Sciences to prepare such an exhibition dedicated to sectoral science, to university science. It has been prepared well, but there is still work to be done. This exhibition aroused a lively, sincere interest among people.  Even in Zimbabwe, experts told me that they were very sorry that they failed to visit this exhibition. This is the result of the joint efforts of our scientists, the Academy of Sciences, industry and university scientists. We will definitely show this impressive gallery of promising domestic scientific developments in each region. I know that the schedule has been drawn up. Already on February 16th, the exposition will go on display for residents of the Gomel Region.”

However, the Belarusian leader stressed that in science there is no time to rest on our laurels and bask in success, “Especially today, when our country is facing unprecedented political challenges, all of us (and science in the first place) need to look only ahead, for the benefit of people’s lives and in the name of creation. In other words, all your innovative achievements should serve the development of the spiritual sphere, strengthen the economic power of the state, and ensure our national security.”
