Lukashenko: Aleksandr Medved rightfully boasts most honourable place among Belarus’ great champions

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated three-time Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling Aleksandr Medved on his 85th birthday – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

“You gave us unforgettable emotions with your bright and sparkling victories. As a coach, you have made a significant contribution to the development of freestyle wrestling. As a recognised sports legend and a well-known public figure, you have worthily represented Belarus at international venues,” the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State noted that Aleksandr Medved – an outstanding athlete, respected mentor and true patriot – rightfully boasts the most honourable place among the great champions of Belarus, from whom youngsters take an example.

The President wished Aleksandr Medved strong health, optimism and good spirits.
