Lukashenko: agriculture experiencing its golden age
The golden age has come for agriculture – as noted by the President of Belarus during his today’s visit to the Yubileyny agricultural facility
On meeting the company employees, the Head of State praised their work, “You have built a very good, complex [Kupalinka dairy complex]. You work well, the management and specialists are pleased. Milk is being sold.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko called the Yubileyny facility – which unites several farms – an independent and sovereign state within the state, adding that it still needs a modern engine yard. “I was promised that – on coming here in autumn – I will see a new modern engine yard. Actually, you are great, you work well – being a kind of a model for the Vitebsk Region and for the country as well in terms of how an agricultural facility should function. Crops are good, and there are almost no points of criticism.”
The Head of State stressed that it is necessary to work extremely well in the sphere of agriculture in 2022 and 2023 – proceeding from the current situation. “This is because your products cost a lot of money – especially outside the country. Food prices have skyrocketed, and this is putting pressure on us, of course. If prices in Russia are high, then it is impossible to keep prices low here, since everything will be taken out then. Meanwhile, the situation is that Russians come here, so you have no need to take [products] anywhere. They buy everything out, so you need to be able to take what you have to take. The golden age has come for agriculture, and nobody knows how long it will last. Meanwhile, I am convinced that 2022 and 2023 will be our years. Therefore, no matter how difficult it is, you should earn money over these years… You have everything in your hands to live normal life,” he explained.
The President added that exemplary companies like Yubileyny are needed so that specialists from other districts come here to learn from their experience.
