Welcoming the guest, the Belarusian leader noted that in December last year in Muscat, the parties agreed to open a new chapter in Belarusian-Omani relations and to ‘treat the first official visit of the Sultan of Oman to Minsk as a starting point of a new stage’, “A great deal of work has been done in the run-up to this event: a comprehensive roadmap for co-operation between the countries, filled with specific tasks in food security, industry, tourism, transport and logistics, and investment; a joint committee on co-operation and investment to ensure stability in co-operation and confidence in achieving the set goals. The Crown Prince, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports is its high-level supervisor on the Omani side. With his personal involvement, following our mutual guidelines, the governments and businessmen have made significant progress in a number of areas.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that thanks to the joint decisions to ease visa requirements and launch direct flights, more than 1,700 Belarusians have visited Oman since February 2025, “We expect a reciprocal flow of Omani guests. The visit of Oman’s Healthcare Minister proved the medical tourism to be promising, as well as educational and cultural exchanges. Signing the agreement on visa-free travel with standard passports will bring our countries even closer together and facilitate implementing joint projects.”
