Lukashenko adds renowned Omani sword to his collection
Following official talks with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman presented him with an Omani sword. The Belarus 1 TV channel broadcasted the gift exchange.

The gift exchange is another aspect of official (and not only official) visits, as well as an interesting behind-the-scenes moment. This time, Aleksandr Lukashenko exchanged the dagger for an Omani sword.
“It’s the most famous sword in our country,” the Sultan of Oman stated.
“We have a tradition: a coin for a weapon. So, here is our coin,” the Belarusian leader noted, presenting another gift in return. Based on the footage, Omani guests also received a bundle of Belarusian products and a painting depicting Belarusian winter.
During the previous talks in Muscat in December 2024, Aleksandr Lukashenko presented the Sultan of Oman with a Slutsk belt and a Shpagin submachine gun. For his part, the Sultan of Oman gifted a Khanjar, the traditional Omani dagger, to the Belarusian leader. This curved dagger is an essential part of the traditional attire worn by Omani Arabs and the country’s national symbol.
