Lukashenko addressed Western world: it was you who triggered and continue war in Ukraine
In his talk with France-Presse, Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the situation around Ukraine ‘which is the main crisis of our time’, according to the agency’s journalist
“You triggered this war, and it is not just my belief. I can prove it one hundred percent on the basis of facts. You triggered and continue this war – including France as well,” the Head of State said.
Speaking of Belarus’ role in this war, the President stressed, “It is the greatest. It is on the top, as it is peacekeeping.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that, as soon as the conflict began, he literally all day long was calling Volodymyr Zelenskyy, persuading him to sit down at the negotiating table since ‘any peace is always better than the best war’. Several rounds took place in Belarus, but then… The President continued, “Then you and your overseas patron banned it (the UK and the US played a role here more, while Emmanuel Macron played a smaller role and kept quiet). You began to stop all negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.”
The President also emphasised that it was in the Palace of Independence – where the interview was organised – that the Minsk agreements were signed in 2015. Their signing was preceded by the 2014 conflict.
“It started with a coup in Ukraine that you committed in 2014. You supported and financed it. Those were primarily Americans, but you – as always – were running behind Americans. This has already been proven: you overthrew the ruling president then – almost killing him, and he ran away,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
