Lukashenko addressed those in Ukraine dissatisfied with Belarus’ position
During his talk with journalists in the Myadel District, the President addressed those in Ukraine dissatisfied with Belarus’ position. According to the Head of State, some Ukrainian resources voice claims against the Belarusian side – saying something like: ‘Well, we worshiped Lukashenko... But how could he do that?!’
Aleksandr Lukashenko commented, “I react sharply in response: how could you declare an economic war on us – despite the position we had then, before the war? We adhered to a friendly, peaceful position. We supported Ukrainians wherever we could. They imposed economic sanctions against us, closed the airspace, and so on – beginning to pressure us at the Americans’ behest. They are crying now: ‘We worshiped Lukashenko, but how could he do that?!’ You should better look at how you behaved before this Russian military operation. And I still have enough patience...”
The President also drew attention to the fact that up to 500 people come from Ukraine to Belarus daily, especially on weekends. “We do not kill or bury them – as Poles once killed and buried people on the border. We provide them with food and medical treatment. We give citizenship and jobs to many of them. Some return back, but then come again in a day to buy something or to ask for something. We feed them. These are our people,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
