Lithuanian security forces threw beaten refugee into Belarus’ territory

On April 23rd, the Smorgon border guards found an Afghan citizen in an exhausted state near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ State Border Committee

The man explained that Lithuanian security forces used physical violence against him. The blows were mainly on the legs.

The Belarusian border guards provided first aid to the refugee and called an ambulance. The initial examination of the victim revealed a torn ankle ligament and suspected pneumonia. The Afghan citizen was taken to the Oshmyany central district hospital.
