Lemur cubs born in Minsk Zoo
Lemurs Marta and Junior have become parents – giving birth to two cubs. Their names will be chosen later, based on the animals’ character – as reported by ONT TV channel
The lemurs came to Belarus from the Russian capital almost a year ago. Their cubs feel good and, as Oksana Buko, a junior researcher at the Minsk Zoo, admits, it’s yet unknown whether they are males or females.
“They are very active, funny and playful. Our little lemurs are all time running around in the enclosure and behave like children. They wish to touch and see everything and their mother feels it. Marta jumps jointly with her babies from one branch to another – teaching them to understand the world around,” Natalia Lovtsevich, a methodologist of the Minsk Zoo’s Educational Department, told the Belarus 1 TV channel.
