Le Pen: it is stupid to wage energy war against Russia

An energy war against Russia at a time when lights are turned off in France and heating needs to be saved against the background of energy shortages is a short-sighted and stupid policy – as stated by the leader of the French far-right National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, RIA Novosti reports

Marine Le Pen stressed that energy resources are ‘a first necessity’ and that anti-Russian sanctions should not concern the energy sector, “An energy war could not be waged against Russia while we have no energy. It is stupid. The present sanctions have much more severe consequences for our own people than for the ruler against whom they are being imposed.”

Along with this, the politician said that the planned power outages in France in the winter are the result of the short-sighted policy of the country’s Government. “We live in the 21st century, we are the 6th world economy, and the authorities explain to us that we are going back to the Stone Age because we will not have electricity, because we need to live by significantly reducing heating, because the French can no longer afford it. Do you expect it will go smoothly? No, it outrages me. This means that our leaders are incompetent and short-sighted," Marine Le Pen stated.
