Law enforcement agencies of Belarus, UAE intend to jointly counter human trafficking
Law enforcement agencies of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates intend to jointly counter human trafficking, the press service of the Interior Ministry of Belarus reports following a working meeting between Belarus’ Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov and Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, sb.by reports
Mr. Kubrakov noted the high dynamics of bilateral co-operation development in the law enforcement sphere and assured that Belarus’ Interior Ministry is ready to further expand it in various areas. Among other topics, the parties discussed the fight against international terrorism, drug and human trafficking, logistical support, and mutual training of employees.
In 2024, UAE police officers successfully completed training on the basis of Belarusian special forces in the field of public order protection during mass events, and another course is planned for the near future.
"There are all conditions for further interaction – both based on the already existing programmes and new ones. We attach special importance to the quality of training with our foreign colleagues," Mr. Kubrakov noted.
The Interior Minister also emphasised that the Belarusian side supports the proposal of the Emirati colleagues on a joint project aimed at countering human trafficking and sexual violence against children. Bilateral meetings of experts on the detailed elaboration of this document are planned in the near future.
