Lavrov: West tries to politicise discussions that should be based on international law
One of the issues for discussion during the joint meeting of the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Russia will be the interaction of our countries within the framework of international organisations, including with human rights and economic focus, as well as the opposition to the West’s line on their politicisation – as stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a meeting with the President of Belarus
“It is important for us to prevent the privatisation of secretariats within international organisations. This is also what the West is trying to do,” the Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed. “And it is especially important to co-ordinate our actions in the so-called human rights field, where the West is clearly trying to politicise the discussions that should be based on international, humanitarian law.”
