Large multi-brand assembly and service site for Belarusian equipment set to open in Krasnoyarsk Krai
Belarusian and Russian industrial enterprises are negotiating the establishment of joint ventures in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, Mikhail Kotyukov, the Governor of Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Krai, told reporters, when commenting on the results of his meeting with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko
As Mr. Kotyukov noted, the parties are interested in co-operation, “Our enterprises are already conducting preliminary negotiations on establishing joint ventures in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, where it would be possible to first assemble and then localise the production of certain machinery components.”
The Russian region is also keen to improve public transport and municipal equipment supplies.
“Krasnoyarsk is located in the very centre of Russia. From here, we can supply neighbouring regions and export products created on the banks of the Yenisei River. It is important to create service facilities that will enable us to maintain the equipment. We have discussed such initiatives today,” the Russian governor said.
As for the promising joint projects, Mr. Kotyukov emphasised, “It is important to support joint initiatives in good time and enable our plants to implement [the agreements reached together]. I think a major project will be the creation of an assembly plant for various types of equipment, not just a service centre. We have agreed today that it is fundamentally important that this will be a multi-brand platform where different Belarusian manufacturers will be simultaneously represented and work will be carried out on a wide range of special machines and equipment. We welcome and support this initiative. I am sure we will find an opportunity to implement it in the near future.”
